A Unique Collection from the Valley of the Gourds
Harvested by local farmers in the Valley of the Cuias (Valley of the Gourds) in the Rio Grande do Sul region of Southern Brazil, the Campanha Cup Copita is slighly smaller than our Campanha Cup Original. Handcrafted, durable and designed to last a lifetime, the Copita is great for individual use and smaller mate circles.
“I got my Campanha Copita today. Thanks for the beautiful cuai.”

A totally unique color pattern
Each gourd is unique, with rich marbling colors. The majority of these cups display bronze and copper patterns, producing elegant and intricate natural designs. No gourd is the same.
Due to the wide breadth of shapes and color patterns, gourds are randomly selected unless otherwise suggested in notes section on checkout page. We’ll try to accommodate your preference, but we can’t guarantee exact color pattern and size.
Not too big and not too small – just right.
Any varietal of mate can be enjoyed in these cups, though if you’re drinking Gaucho / Erva, these gourds are especially crafted for more powdery mates. The large bowl shape allow you to perfectly position the spoon bombilla at the base, helping to prevent clogging. We recommend the following bombillas to pair with these gourds: Monte, Ryo, Simone (more about bombillas here).
Below are rough averages of sizes and capacity — due to the naturalness of the product, sizes vary from gourd to gourd. Generally speaking, these gourds hold around .50 oz (14 gm) more dry mate (with room to spare) than our Quantum Copitas (wooden gourds).
- Height: 3.25 in. – 4 in. (8.25 cm – 10.16 cm)
- Weight: 2.20 oz
- Capacity (dry herb with space for water): 1.70 oz (48 gm)
Gourd Maintenance
Enjoy your Campanha Cup immediately — no curing necessary. Occasionally apply a thin layer of natural oil (i.e., coconut or olive) to preserve natural luster. Keep gourds clean and dry after each day of use.
We’ve included a complimentary mate bench (randomly selected) to securely rest your gourd on a flat surface, made from recycled leather which is more environmentally friendly than traditional leather (example several images below).
